For the past few months, I have been working hard on closing a deal on website advertising with a third-party system provider in Singapore. Working hard means I have scouted around for the service providers, got in touch with them, provided and collected data, met face-to-face, proposed layout design, discussed with web agency on integration works, and then became the middle person between Legal department and third party to finalise the agreement. And this A-Z works are just a tiny part of my work.

Finally, last Friday I was ready to show Trump that my department is not just a cost-centre. We are BOTH cost centre and revenue-generating unit. Perhaps, he won’t be so hard in giving his approvals, which will be good news for my successor once I am ready to re-hand in my resignation letter. On my part, that’s something to gloss up my resumé. ‘Despite being a cost-centre, I succeed in contributing monthly revenue for the company.’

With flushed face and thumping heart, I sat in front of Trump and said, ‘I bring you good news, Datuk. We have managed to get in website ads in our website, which translates into a revenue forecast of RMXk per month.’ I can hear Trump’s brain gearing into motions as he comprehended my rushing words. ‘What is this Carneyz talking about? Revenue? More RM? Cost centres don’t generate any revenues…’ and I had to explain in bits and pieces of how I started the whole project, how does the mechanism works, and showed him the memo & the finalised agreement.

He was, undeniably very pleased at this news. ‘Very good. RMXk? Good work.’ Were his two replies. He signed the agreement and studied the memo intently for a minute.

Then…

‘Don’t you think our website looks too cluttered? I find things all over the place. Don’t you think so? Why isn’t the Business section updated? Didn’t you ask from the related departments for feeds? I want it updated by end of this month!’

Suddenly he shot all these questions to us endlessly. It was as if we had wrestled the compliments out of his mouth, of which he had regained the control of his brain from our evil clutches and back to being Trump. The Trump who criticizes and then gives us the axe, and our heads roll out of his office back to where they belong. In a lowly ghetto.

This is probably my 1,865,394th reason to quit and look for a real job (instead of acting like a slave) - the fact that getting appreciated verbally is already hard enough, let alone getting salary increments.

Sebenarnya, entri ni dibuat sebab aku sangat bosan. Jadi aku merepek2 saja di sini...

Cerita #1

I lap u so much la, bebeh!

Pada pendapat kami, tak guna berpuasa kalau bila time bukak puasa, melantak tak ingat dunia.

>> Rasanya sejak darjah 3... Waktu tu kiteorang duduk kat kampung ngan pakyeng (atuk) dan makyeng (nenek). Kalau tak puasa, nanti makyeng bising :s kalau puasa penuh, pakyeng kasi ganjaran duit saku lebih. Hehe.

Pernahkah anda ponteng puasa dan apakah alasannya??
>> Masa tu darjah 5. Dekat2 nak raya, kiteorang balik ke kampung naik Pajero. Alhamdulillah dah besar ni, kurang sket mabuk kereta tu :)

Adakah anda pernah bermain bunga api dan mercun??
>> Main mercun takde la. Tapi main bunga api ni memang acara wajib bila balik kampung sebab ada pakcik yang selalu supply bunga api kat kiteorang. Tambah2 lagi main dengan sepupu2 so sangat la meriah! :) Huhu... Rindu pulak raya masa kecik2 dulu... :(

Juadah apakah menjadi kegemaran anda sewaktu berbuka??

>> Semua lagu raya dulu2...

Tahun ini anda beraya di mana??
>> Kampung Baru Ismail Igan (kampung terchenta tempat kiteorang sah jadi suami isteri) pastu baru ler kat Kampung Meranek, Kuching :)

Selamat Hari Raya, Suami Terchenta! ;)

kad raya dari suami terchenta tahun ini...

Dengan sukacita, aku nak tag:

1. Suami terchenta
2. Survivor ;)
- This is for the birthday girl today and that on 28 September. Also, for the one who is leaving come end of September. Remember the time we used to talk about what happened when September ends, and many more. -

Firstly, let me wish all my Muslim friends, ‘Selamat Menjalani Ibadah Puasa’ :) Jangan lupa solat terawih malam ni! (suami terchenta was over-excited about performing terawih that he went to the surau last night only to find out that fasting month will only start this Thursday). To my Johor friends, happy holiday tomorrow. Seronoknya.
I would also like to apologise to everyone before the month of Ramadhan, if I have done / said anything that offended any of you.
Now, I’ve been tagged to do this, first by Survivor and later, by another blog friend (I’ve forgotten which one :p) and I never got around to do it until now. I know this is a bit outdated (everyone has done it, duh!) but since I’ve promised them, so here goes:
1. Four jobs I've had
a) An overzealous, perfectionist student
b) Part-time waitress

c) Underpaid research assistant
d) My current career trap for nearly 3 years : Kulikutive – anyway, I have made up my mind to leave as soon as I have settled a few more projects. Before I leave, I am planning to:
- Tidy up our store rooms. Which both myself and my assistant did last week. After this, God knows how long would it take to get a new staff to replace me, so I might as well help my assistant to get the mess rooms organised.
- I am also teaching my assistant my scope of work as I handle most tasks that our boss is not handling (like anyone would expect a manager to write newsletters and do website maintenance and other menial jobs!). Two months of notice period will not be sufficient to hand over everything. Like Jen, I don’t like to leave this place in chaos.
Ok. So, would anyone else want to hire me? Starting salary at RM3.5K only.

2. Four movies I can watch over and over and over
a) Shrek 1, 2 & 3
b) Ice Age 1 & 2
c) Ratatuilles
d) Kingdom of Heaven (the only Western movie that potrays Muslim warriors without prejudice)

a) Bintulu, Sarawak
b) Sri Kembangan, Selangor
c) Skudaifornia
d) Sri Gombak

4. Four TV shows I love
a) CSI Las Vegas, Miami & New York
b) Supernatural
c) Animal Planet
d) Spongebob Squarepants (we both love it!)

5. Four of my all-time favorite songs

What the #@!&@!!

AirAsia memang #@!&@#!!???@#!
P/S: ETD = Expected Time of Departure. Bukan Nata De Coco, tau!
